In Stockholm, Sweden, a mythical creature who is supposed to have lived in Lake Storsjon for hundreds of years, and which has been under government protection since 1986, has been taken off the endangered species list. The regional council responsible for the change believes it possible that the creature still exists, but since there is no scientific proof of its existence, they cannot justify the creature being considered endangered.

300-500 rabbits are being schlepped to another park after developing a semi-extensive habitat in Woodland Park, Seattle. One resident, who stopped jogging through the park due to the disturbing sight of dead rabbits has rescued two of them, one of them abused. While the rabbits don’t pose any particular threat to residents, they lead a life that many consider inhumane. The rabbits began as pets, but lived up to their reputation of fertility by exploding into a full-fledged bunny community.
Antifreeze Really Doesn?t Taste That Bad

In an odd case in Cambridge, Mass., a husband was charged with first-degree murder by slowly poisoning his wife with Antifreeze for her life insurance policy. The prosecutors say that he added the antifreeze to her Gatorade drink on a daily basis. He is said to have told a friend that he was planning on buying a BMW and building a house with the money from the policy.

An elderly home in Sweden was recently graced with the presence of two moose that had gotten drunk off of fermented apples. When the local police attempted to frighten the animals away, they returned in search of more apples. Eventually the moose left, without any major catastrophe.

Why Did I Make This Fortune Cookie?
I am primarily a web developer, and I wanted to try out some programming that allows you to interact with a database without refreshing the page. It uses the javascript programming language to interact with a PHP / MySQL database and display random fortunes to visitors each time they click the fortune cookie. The idea came to me in a flash of inspiration and I let it sit for a couple of days while I got on with other business. When I started working on the cookie, I did a quick search on the internet and found at least 10 other virtual fortune cookies out there. I guess it's pretty rare to have an original idea, eh? However, all the others were text-fortune based and required you to refresh the page, so I thought my idea was still worth working through.
